A Whole Lot of Detroit Musicians Up In Here!!!

This Saturday night, 15 of the biggest bands in Detroit right now will be playing at The Magic Stick. But, they won't be playing the songs you are used to hearing them play. Instead, they will be playing songs that you are used to hearing 15 other Detroit bands play! The event is called Detroit X Detroit. This is the second year it has been put on, with this year being even bigger with more bands and 2 stages.

Each of the bands that are playing this show were given the opportunity to pick any Detroit band to perform as, with the only rule being that the band had to have been popular in the last few years or still be around. Some of the choices that these bands had are pretty awesome! So not only will some of the best bands in Detroit be playing, but they will be playing music by some of  Detroit's favorite's bands. Here is the list of who's who at this event:

THE VATICAN as Alice Cooper (HEADLINING MAIN STAGE)
MICK BASSETT as The White Stripes (SIDE STAGE)
THE HANDGRENADES as The High Strung (MAIN STAGE)
THE KICKSTAND BAND as The Amino Acids (SIDE STAGE)
LIGHTNING LOVE as The Kickstand Band (MAIN STAGE)
JOHN NELSON AND THE NEW GIRLFRIENDS as Brendan Benson (SIDE STAGE)
DUENDE as The Oscillating Fan Club (SIDE STAGE)
CITIZEN SMILE as Jesse and the Gnome (MAIN STAGE)
PUPILS as ADULT (SIDE STAGE)
WOODMAN as Chris Bathgate (MAIN STAGE)
THE ASHLEYS as Pupils (SIDE STAGE)
THE GOOD THINGS as The Sights (MAIN STAGE)
SKINNY WRISTS as Deadbeat Beat (SIDE STAGE)
YOUNG BLOOD as Bob Seger (MAIN STAGE)
STEPHEN SCHMIDT as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. (OPENING SIDE STAGE)

Each band will be playing 2-3 songs. So it will be a constant back and forth between the two stages! Sounds like a ton of fun!

Cover for this show is only $5 with all proceeds going towards a scholarship fund at The Rochester School of Rock. So, by going to see some great Detroit musicians, you will be making a contribution to Detroit musicians of the future! If you want more details on the event, you can get them here. While you're at it, make sure to check out The Rochester School of Rock and what they're all about!
