Saturday, August 19th - SW Fest @ The Senate Theater: SW Fest returns to the Senate Theater this Saturday to celebrate art, music, food and everything that makes Southwest Detroit great. The event starts at 2 p.m. and there will be music across three stages throughout the day. Check out the full lineup here. There will be 45 performers and over 100 vendors. Admission is free! 


Saturday, August 19th - Sorted! Dance Party @ Bowlero: If you sort of hate the Dream Cruise, but you also sort of feel like you're missing out if you don't go, we have the event for you! Head to Bowlero this Saturday night for Sorted!, a '60s dance party! DJ Mike Trombley and DJ ALR!GHT will be spinning your favorite tunes from the 60's all night, from R&B to garage to psych. Friday, August 11th - Red Bull Unlocked Detroit @ The Russell Industrial Center: We all know by now that when Red Bull comes to town, they do some cool shit. Well this Friday night, Red Bull is doing something out of the ordinary that we are sure will be a blast. It's called Red Bull Unlocked Detroit and it's bringing together some of Detroit's best nightlife to one spot. First, the team behind the event will be creating make shift versions of some of your favorite bars, like Deluxx Fluxx, Apartment Disco, Second Best, and The Old Miami inside The Russell. Then, there will be DJ sets from Haute to Death, The Knocks, Andre Power, Sky Jetta, Chase B & HouseParty, and more. There will also be a barber shop, tattoos, and even Leo's Coney Island will be there. Tickets are just $15 and can be purchased in advance here. The fun starts at 8 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.


Friday, August 11th - Sounds Like Detroit @ New Center Park: This Friday night, WDET will bring together the top 5 musicians from Detroit's Tiny Desk Contest for a concert at New Center Park. The lineup includes winner Jahz along with runners up Carmel Liburdi, KingFisher, Pregnant Teenage Hospital, and Cesar Aquino. Over 110 musicians entered this contest, so if these are the top 5, you know they must be good! Tickets are $25 and the show starts at 7 p.m. Get your tickets here

Theatre Bizarre Orchestra to Perform Free Concert at Ferndale Library

The Theatre Bizarre Orchestra will be performing a free concert at the Ferndale Library on Tuesday, August 22nd at 6:30 p.m. This is the third and final installment of the library's annual Summer Concert Series. The Theatre Bizarre Orchestra is a versatile and eclectic jazz ensemble that has served as the "house band" for the world-famous Theatre Bizarre attraction. However, Theatre Bizarre will be taking the year off for the 2023 season, making this upcoming library appearance by their “Orchestra” much more exclusive.

The concert will be held in the library's program room and is open to all ages. No registration is required. The Theatre Bizarre Orchestra is sure to put on a great show, so be sure to mark your calendars!

Friday, August 4th - Life Long Garbage Album Release @ Small's: There are some amazing female fronted acts in Detroit and there's a new album coming out that features a whole bunch of them! Life Long Garbage is a Detroit Femal Fronted Punk Compilation Album that features bands like Rough Patch, The Lowcocks, Girl Fight, Carmel Liburdi, and more. The album features 15 bands total and you can give it a listen here. This Friday night, many of the bands included on the album will be performing at the release show at Small's, check out the full lineup here. All ages are welcome and doors open at 7 p.m.


Friday, August 4th - The Muggs @ Outer Limits Lounge: The Muggs take over Outer Limits Lounge this Friday night! This is the band's first show in almost a year, so don't miss it! They will be joined be Sugar Tradition and Clear Fields. Cover is $12 and 18+ are welcome. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Saturday, August 5th - Night of the Living Dead @ Senate Theatre: Get spooky at The Senate Theater this Saturday night!
