Win Tickets To See Beacon, Dangerous Cans & Ancient Language

Thursday night there is a show in the Majestic Cafe that you won’t want to miss. The Majestic Complex is constantly bringing us a great variety of awesome shows and this is no exception! The show on Thursday features Beacon with Dangerous Cans and Detroit’s own Ancient Language

Beacon is an R&B influenced electronic music duo from Brooklyn made up of Thomas Mullarney III and Jacob Gossett. They are touring in support of their debut full length album that they released about a month ago, called The Ways We Separate. You can download the single "Drive" for free via Rolling Stone here and watch the video for the song below.

Dangerous Cans is the 'brain baby' of Brian Time who is originally from Michigan, but is currently based in Brooklyn. Time is accompanied by Alexandros Lambravasillis on drums. The electro-pop group released their album, Stayin' in the USA, on May 30 and even played with one of our local favorites, Jamaican Queens, not too long ago. You can check out the songs from the Stayin in the USA 7" here.

Ancient Language is Chris Jarvis, also of Phantasmagoria, and we just can't seem to get enough of him. Sadie caught up with Chris a couple of months ago to find out more about this project. You can read the interview with him here.

The show starts at 10 p.m. on June 6 in the Majestic Cafe. Tickets are $8 in advance, or $10 at the door and it is an all ages show. However, our good friends at the Majestic are giving us 2 pairs of tickets to give away to two lucky winners for this show. If you want to see Beacon, Dangerous Cans and Ancient Language with a friend for FREE, all you have to do is send us an email to hipindetroit@gmail.com with your full name and 'I Want to See Beacon' as the subject. We will be drawing the winners Thursday morning, so hurry up and enter and make sure to keep an eye on your email on Thursday. Good luck!!!
