Partyin' Hard with Andrew W.K.

In honor of Go Skateboard Day and as a part of the XG2D movement, Andrew W.K. played a free show at The Majestic Theatre on Friday night. When you were walking up to the venue, you knew there was a party going on inside because the sidewalk was full of people. By the time Andrew W.K. played a couple of songs, most of those people were on stage with him.

This was our first time ever seeing Andrew W.K. live. We kind of felt like we had entered another universe. It was definitely a party and his fans are pretty intense. We might just be some of those crazy fans now. Whether you are a die hard or you are just looking for a good time, you need to go see this guy the next time you have a chance. I don't think we've ever seen a crowd so entertained by one dude with a keyboard and some tracks. He was awesome, his show was fun, and he's a supporter of Detroit and bringing the X Games to town. What's not to like?!?! Not to mention, this was one of the most energetic shows we've seen and the guy had been up for 36 hours straight by the time he hit the stage, 24 of which were spent playing the drums non-stop.
(You can check out the video of that here.) If you missed out on the show Friday night, the XG2D crew was at The Majestic shooting the whole set, with their very dapper anchor. So keep an eye out for their next video which is bound to feature some highlights from the show.
