2 Ways to Help The Heidelberg Project This Weekend!

With the series of bad events that have taken place at The Heidelberg Project, many people are left wondering why someone is destroying this notable art installment and what they can do to help restore the project and end further destruction. The group behind The Heidelberg Project recently ran an online fundraiser to up the security in the neighborhood and it was a great success. However, there is still a lot of work to be done and, as with most things, money is needed for clean up, restoration, and to further and protect Heidelberg. Luckily Detroiters are coming together in some creative ways to help, and you can get in on the action!

First, this Friday and Saturday night PJ's Lager House is playing host to a 2 day show that will benefit The Heidelberg Project. The bill includes Carlton James, J. Clark Reid, Moon Walks, Rickett Pass, Alison Lewis and The Fertilizers on Friday. Saturday night will include Luddites, Detroit Party Marching Band, Dale Robertson Blues Band, The Kickstand Band and The Royal Blackbirds. There is a suggested donation of $10 per night.

On Saturday night there is a slightly different way you can help out Heidelberg. Solo Detroit and FyouNK are coming together for a fundraiser. The event is being held at the FyouNK Collective, a clothing store and art gallery in Royal Oak. The night will feature a raffle and music by Gosh Pith. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased online here or entry is $15 at the door. For more details on this event, head over to the Facebook event.

We hope that this rash of arson and destruction of The Heidelberg Project has passed. If we all come together we can help restore and save this Detroit landmark. We would love to see The Heidelberg Project grow and strive for years to come.
