Your New Favorite Restaurant - Rock City Eatery (VIDEO)

A new restaurant located in the heart of Hamtramck just opened its doors a few weeks ago and it's already becoming the new hot spot for dinner. Rock City Eatery is located at 11411 Joseph Campau and features a wide variety of food, amazing cocktails, great beers, and delicious desserts. It blends owner Nikita Santches' Eastern European roots with Detroit Style to make it a place that's all its own.

Rock City's Menu features a vast selection of food, ranging from burgers to brussel sprouts. It also features an assortment of pies daily, as Santches got his entrepreneurial start with Rock City Pies at the Rust Belt Market. There is definitely something for everyone on the menu, even for those that are a little more adventurous, such as the Smoked Beef Sandwich which features Lingua (a.k.a. beef tongue).

On our dinner outing, Sadie and I went for something a little cheesier. I ordered the Rock City Mac-Cheese and she ordered the RC Grilled Cheese. First off, her sandwich was not your mom's grilled cheese, as it was made with 3 different cheeses, on an amazing toasty, crusty bread. It was also served with field greens.

On my plate was some of the best mac & cheese I have ever had. It was served in a bowl made out of cheese and topped with the same crispy cheese. Seriously delicious! This is a completely different take on macaroni and cheese than the fan favorite at Slows. However, I have a feeling it's going to become another Detroit staple, just the same.

While you are at Rock City Eatery you have to also make sure to get one of their signature cocktails. Although there is a long list of great beers as well, we went with the French 75 and Death in the Afternoon. Both were amazing!!!

After dinner we had a chance to chat with the owner to learn more about him and the eatery. Here's what he had to say:

Once again, Rock City Eatery is located at 11411 Joseph Campau in Hamtramck. They are open Monday-Thursday from 4 p.m. 'til Midnight and Friday-Saturday from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. They also just started serving a awesome late night Ramen, so make sure to keep this place in mind for after the bar too!
