Get Ready for the Big Game!!!!!!!!

It's Puppy Bowl Sunday!!!!!!!

Any of you that know me know that I absolutely love puppies of all colors, shapes, and sizes. If there is a dog at a party, I probably will spend just as much time playing with it as I spend socializing with people. My co-workers still make fun of me to this day for buying a cheeseburger for a stray dog in Detroit and then immediately after, refusing a dollar to some man with a sob story about needing to feed his kids. I LOVE puppy dogs! So, obviously while most of the nation is excited about The Super Bowl today, I can't wait for The Puppy Bowl!

This is the 8th year that Animal Planet has put on this great event. For those of you that have never tuned in before, here's the premise. Animal Planet has constructed a mini-football stadium. They gather up some of the cutest puppies around from various animal rescues. They then let the puppies loose on the football field. You get to watch them play for 4 quarters of fun, from tons of great angles (my favorite is the water bowl camera) and even get to see replays of some of the best tackles. Here are some highlights from past years!

After looking through Animal Planets vast pre-game coverage, I think I may have made my decision for the MVP this year. It was a very tough decision, but after looking through the stats and pictures many times (and realizing I had every name written down at one point) I finally made a decision. My vote goes to Calvin, although I think Eurika might be his sidekick. Calvin just seems to have that look about him. He may be small, but that could play to his advantage. He can dodge past the other puppies. Plus his ears are floppy, but not so floppy that they are easy targets for the opponents to pull on. Eurika looks like she is alert, on the look out, and ready to pounce if she needs to tackle someone.

Some other players you will definitely want to keep an eye on are Friday and Hunter. Friday looks full of energy and ready to go. Hunter looks like he will be a great defense-man. Leroy Brown looks like he has been around the block a few times. You might not want to mess with that guy.

The two weakest players will probably be Joni and Lucie. I'm pretty sure you will find Joni shaking in the corner and Lucie sleeping in the middle of the field.

So that's my run down on today's players. Despite who wins, one thing is for sure. There will be tons of cute, little puppies running around and I wish I could kiss all of their wet little noses.

Make sure to tune in to Animal Planet at 3 p.m. to catch the game. Don't forget, there is also The Kitty Half-Time Show for all of you feline lovers! So stay tuned throughout!
