Meet Reuther

I'm a sucker for a good drummer. Meghan Trainor might be all about that bass, but I'm more all about that bass drum. A good drummer can make or break a band for me. Daniel Stover from Break Anchor is a great drummer, which is why I have always respected him as a musician and enjoy watching him play.

Dan reached out to Hip In Detroit to let us know that he is launching a new project this week called Reuther. Don't worry though, he's still going to be playing with Break Anchor. He felt it was time to team up with long time friend Jimmy Vee and lay down some tracks that were a little more personal to them, the result was something spectacular, according to Dan. They recruited bass player Korey Brisendine from Chicago and voila, a new band was formed.

We had a chance to interview Dan last week at the Break  Anchor show about the upcoming Reuther show this Sunday, October 19th at Small's. You can tell how excited Dan is by watching the interview below.

If you are as intrigued by his description and his passion as we were, you can head out to Small's to catch Reuther live alongside Cheapshow, Fires in Japan, and Rebuilder from Boston. It's only $7 to get in and doors for the show are at 7:30 p.m. Small's is located at 10339 Conant in Hamtramck.
