Eyes on Midtown

Last week we were invited to attend a preview party for a new business opening up in Detroit called Eyes on Midtown. The idea behind the business is to give Detroiters access to a boutique that sells one of a kind handmade frames that no one else around you is going to be wearing. There is nothing worse then getting new frames and realizing that everyone around you has them already.

The boutique has recruited Doctors Jacquelyn Blakey OD and Tiffany Humes OD to do the exams and are carrying one of a kind glasses from Salt as well as their own line that they are calling EOM. They also carry a lot of vintage one of a kind glasses that you need to see. They are very unique and some of them are even made of real gold. The company states that they "offer only handmade frames from the most exciting designers in the world. Each of our HD lenses is manufactured exclusively for you, digitally surfaced to enhance your vision by 28%. Our staff have been trained to meet all of your eye-care needs, from the office, to dress, to sports and recreation."

We  liked what we saw when we were there and we could see ourselves heading there the next time that we need new glasses. If you would like to check it out yourself, feel free to visit their website here or go to the space yourself! The boutique is located at 71 Garfield Street, Detroit, MI 48202. We like the idea of more luxury retailers bringing their wares to Detroit, so we were happy to see this space open.
