Big Mess Releases Romantic Warrior Softball Team

HipInDetroit.com is frequently sent albums to review and  I don't usually take the bands up on it because I never know what to say, I am not a musician. But, every once in awhile I get an album that I cannot stop listening to. For instance, I have been listening to Passalaqua/ SYBLYNG's Church like it's going out of style, that album is as solid as they come. I have also been playing Big Mess' new album Romantic Warrior Softball Team on repeat.

First off, I'll admit that this isn't normally the kind of tunes that I would be attracted to, but once I pushed play I was instantly hooked. This shit is catchy as hell and Scott Allen has a great voice, he hits the high notes and gets very raspy in the sexiest way. At times it reminds me of The Boss. It's one of those albums that makes you want to dance and have a good time. I have been throwing it on while I work out because it gets me moving. My favorite track off the album is "Yer Kool". The record was recorded by Brad Allen, a.k.a. Scott's father. It was mastered by Mike Bridavsky at Russian Recording in Bloomington, IN and the album cover itself was painted by Scott.

This is a great piece of music from start to finish. Give it a listen and see what I mean for yourself. Kudos to Big Mess and thanks for sending this one over for us to listen to!
