Your Chance to see The Company We Keep for FREE with Squid The Whale, The A-Gang and Arrows!!!

I have been going to shows since I was 11 years old. Back in those days it was all about The Wired Frog and hall shows. Kids got together and played music to other kids and everyone had a good time. Back in the day I was totally obsessed with a band called Fordirelifesake. I grew up going to every single show that they played and buying everything that they put out. I was heartbroken when they called it quits because I loved that band and was going to miss watching those guys play.

The years passed and each person formed a new project, some were good and some were not. Guitarist Brian Southall spent a few years touring with bands like Motion City Soundtrack and did not immediately form another project. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that Brian had a new project called The Company We Keep. He has always been a talented musician and writer and I figured I would like whatever he was up to. I went online to check out the band and was shocked with what I saw. This project was very different from anything that he had ever done and the fact that they had a female singer made then even more appealing to me. When they played St. Andrews last year I went to see what Brian had been up to. I loved the band and assumed that they would be going big places pretty fast. Immediately after I made that assumption, I heard that they had lost their singer and things were up in the air. I was disappointed to see another great project fall apart before it could get some real attention. But, instead of calling it quits, they decided to look for a new singer.

Brian, Justin Pierre and Branden Morgan (Ex- Misery Signals/ Motion City Soundtrack/ Fordirelifesake/ The Receiving End of Sirens) decided that they would look for another singer instead of scrapping the band. They posted online that you could send a demo in and announced on AbsolutePunk.net that 21 year old Haden Brightwell would be the new front woman for the project. They scrapped most of their old stuff and began writing again. Brian does most of the music and Justin does most of the lyrics. Together they have been writing a bunch of new stuff and have spent the last few weeks recording it with Hayden.

The Company We Keep is about to embark on a small tour that will take them from Kentucky to Indiana and back home to play at The Loving Touch with Squid The Whale, The A-Gang and Arrows (Omaha) on Friday, March 15th. This will be the first time that they have played here with the new singer.

This is a pretty epic event and we are going to give 5 lucky people a chance to get in the door. We will be posting a flyer to the show on our Facebook today. If you would like to be entered to win a ticket, simply go to our Facebook and tag yourself in the photo of the flyer. Each day this week we will pick one lucky winner to have their name in the guest list at the show this Friday. We will post the winner on our Facebook each evening this week. So make sure to check and see if you are the winner!

Friday's show is $5 at the door for 21 and over and $10 for 18-21. Doors open at 8 p.m. You need to make sure that you are on time because everyone of these bands has something great to offer! The Loving Touch is located at 22634 Woodward Ave. in Ferndale.
