Go See Larry and his Flask and The Goddamn Gallows this Weekend! For Free!

This Saturday you should put on your cutest polka dot dress, curl up your bangs, and paint your lips red before coming out to see The Goddamn Gallows and Larry and his Flask at The Magic Stick! Nothing is cuter than a hot rokcabilly girl, enjoying some great music, on a Saturday night!  Well one thing is better, going for free and getting some sweet swag to take home!

Today we start a new feature on our site! Contests! Thanks to Black Iris Booking, Larry and his Flask, and The Goddamn Gallows, we are giving away a pair of tickets to this Saturday's show along with some great merch, including a Larry and his Flask trucker hat and cd!

Here's the scoop on both bands.

The Goddamn Gallows have been around since 2004 and were formed by Lansing/Detroit natives Mikey Classic, Fishgutzzz and Amanda Kill. Since they started the line up has changed a little bit and now includes Mikey Classic (Guitar & Vocals), Fishgutzzz ('Big ol' Bass & Shouts'), Baby Genius (Drums), Avery (Washboard & Accordian) and Jayke (Mandolin & Banjo). Not exactly your traditional lineup and instruments. The band has been on the road since 2007, sharing their gypsy punk, psychobilly sound with countless audiences. They are currently on tour with Larry and his Flask and Reverend Horton Heat, but in the past they have played with bands such as Nekromantix, The Legendary Shack Shakers and Dick Dale. Long story short, this band isn't like any other band you've seen before. Check out this video of them live, produced by Red Door TV.

Larry and his Flask were formed in 2003 in Oregon. Their country, punk rock sound is brought to you by  Jamin Marshall (Drums), Ian Cook (Vocals), Dallin Bulkley (Guitars), Kirk Skatvold (Mandolin) and Andrew Carew (Banjo). The band has toured tirelessly for the past several years, starting out by playing coffee shops and anywhere they could, like many other bands. However, in the last couple of years they have grown enormously in popularity and have gone from playing small venues to touring with bands like Dropkick Murphys. Larry and his Flask will be heading to Europe, for the first time, next month. So make sure to catch them while they are in town. Here's their music video for "Call It What You Will".

Who the hell has a drummer that plays the drums standing up? Apparently these guys do!

One thing is for sure. We can't wait to see both of these bands this weekend. Even more, we can't wait for you to come party with us!

So how can you win these tickets??? It's simple. Well sort of simple. Answer this question:

Larry and his Flask has merch that asks, "Who wants _________________?"

Just fill in the blank! Send your answers to hipindetroit@gmail.com. Don't forget to put your name somewhere in there too! We will be randomly selecting someone with the correct answer tomorrow. Keep checking back to find out who the lucky winner is!

P.S. If you don't want to wait to find out if you won tickets, you can buy them here or at The Garden Bowl!
