Blowout 2012 - Night #1

We got to see a ton of great bands last night at The Metrotimes Blowout. The 3 that were at the top of our list to see were The Summer Pledge, Wilson and Bars of Gold. Since Wilson and Bars of Gold played at the same time, we went with the closest venue and we got to see Wilson.
So first for the evening was The Summer Pledge at The Painted Lady. We caught these guys last week when they played with Bars of Gold and we knew we had to see more and catch up with them. Unfortunately, Sadie got lost, but Becca and Christie enjoyed their set. We both agreed that their music made us wish we were driving around on a summer's day with the windows down. They're a little more chill than some of the other bands we've shown you lately, but just as awesome!
The other bands that we saw were Lord Scrummage, Wilson, Charlie Slick and Thunda Clap, The Vatican and Beast in the Field. Although we liked some better than others, all of the bands were pretty sweet and the crowd seemed to have a great time!

If you didn't make it out last night, you still have 2 nights left. Pick your bracelet up at either Detroit Threads or the Polish National Alliance (PNA). We'll be starting our night tonight with Big Mess and Destroy This Place at the Polish Village Cafe. Hopefully we will get to see Tom Petty too! Rumor has it, he will be around this weekend. Just ask Jeremy from The Summer Pledge if you want more details.
