Win Tickets to See Show Me The Body and Wolfeyes at City Club

Detroit's City Club aka The Leland was originally built in 1927. It was one of Detroit's first upscale hotels. It boasted over 800 rooms, 20 floors and it was one of the first places to have air conditioning. It became infamous in the '50s as the hangout of Jimmy Hoffa and his friends in the Purple Gang. Four people died when the building was being built and over 15 people have killed themselves within its walls, it is regarded as one of the city's most haunted buildings. The Leland now serves as an apartment building and the famous ballroom was turned into a venue/club in 1983. It is by far one of the coolest places to dance your goth heart out.

These days they rarely have events at the space, but this weekend they have a really solid lineup of City Club worthy acts coming to the stage. Show Me The Body, Wolf Eyes, Dreamcrusher and DJ Black Noi$e to the stage this Sunday, April 8th. Tickets to attend the show are $10 in advance and they can be purchased here. We also have one pair of tickets to give away to the show. If you would like to enter to win a pair of tickets to this show please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with the subject line #leland. We will draw one lucky person this weekend and they will get to hang out at this historic haunted club hearing some great tunes with a friend for free!
