The Howe family invited fans to say their final goodbyes to Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe, last night at Joe Louis Arena. The hockey legend passed away on Friday at the age of 88.

Howe spent 25 years of his prolific career in Detroit. He earned four Stanley Cups and six Hart Trophies with the Red Wings. He was also the only professional hockey player to have a career that spanned six different decades.

The Detroit Red Wings have set up a Facebook page for fans to share memories and messages, you can check that out here. Howe's funeral will take place today at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.
