El Dee "Endearment" Release Show & Album Giveaway!

I'm a sucker for good looking women who can sing. Let's just say having a female front woman is a quick way to my heart, and unfortunately I’m more likely to check your band out if their is a luscious lady in the lineup.

That's why when I got a copy of El Dee’s first album called Endearment that is being released this Saturday at The Loving Touch, I immediately gave it a listen instead of putting it into the pile of things I need to check out. The album was nothing like I expected, mostly because the only time I saw this band play before listening to the album was seeing them cover No Doubt at this past Creepy Cheapy. The singer, Lauren Deming,  must of really had to psych herself up to pretend she as Gwen because she is much more of a sultry singer than a push up doing punk rocker. At times, this reminds me of Fiona Apple, which is a huge compliment in my book.

The band is hoping that you'll come out for their debut this weekend. They will be playing alongside The Cold Wave and Psalm. There is no cover charge for coming to check out the show and doors open at 8 p.m.

We asked El Dee to send us a copy of the new album to giveaway to our readers. So, if you’d like to check out Endearment, send your name and address to hipindetroit@gmail.com. We will choose a winner at the end of the week and mail them a copy of the album along with some swag. If you're looking for a great place to kick back with a strong drink and hear some soothing music this Saturday, head out to this show!
