Reggie and the Full Effect at The Pike Room this Thurday!!!

Reggie and the Full Effect may have started as a side project for The Get Up Kids' Keyboardist James Dewees, but almost 15 years and 6 albums later has proven that it is much more than a side project. I cannot count how many times I have drunkenly danced while singing “boot to the moon, jazz hands” or yelled out, “Reggie in full effect, in fucking full effect” over the years. The songs off of Promotional Copy and The Great Hits are some of my favorite jams to break out at a party, they are pure fun. This music was energetic, it was silly, and a lot of it was about falling in love, which I could relate to.

James played all the instruments on the recordings, but performed with friends from groups like The Get Up Kids, Coalesce, and Esoteric when Reggie played live. He closed the book on Reggie after finishing the farewell tour in 2013, but quickly reopened it when a Kickstarter was created in March to fund a new album that would be called “No Country for Old Musicians”. He recorded the album this past summer and is out touring with the new music.

He will be visiting The Pike Room this Thursday, February 13th alongside Dads and Pentimento. Tickets for the show are only $13.50 in advance and $16 at the door. They can be purchased online here.

It will be good to see Reggie in full effect again, in fucking full effect that is.
