MOCAD Opening All Vegan & Vegetarian Cafe Today!

This Wednesday the MOCAD will open its doors for a new kind of permanent exhibit, but this one isn't for you to look at. It's for you to taste. They have announced that their new all vegetarian/vegan cafe Topsoil will open this week.

This new edition to the MOCAD family is owned and operated by the Russell Street Deli, a place that is always packed in the Eastern Market and is known for using all organic produce. Topsoil will feature a full beer and wine menu and have free wifi for patrons. They will have a soba noodle bowl and curry everyday along with different salads and soups. The space holds about 50 people at a time and will be open the same hours as the MOCAD exhibits. The current hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. They are going to be making an all vegan coney that I cant wait to try and nothing in the cafe will be over $8. MOCAD members will be eligible for discounts at the cafe.

The MOCAD is located at 4454 Woodward Ave. in Detroit. The new cafe will be open for this Friday's Jamaican Queens & Doc Waffles exhibit opening party and will occasionally have special hours during events. This promises to be a welcome edition to the Detroit family!
