The First Punk Show at The Phoenix

Word on the streets is that Hazel Park is going to be the next hip neighborhood in Metro Detroit. Well there is one place that took a chance on this city before everyone else. It's called The Phoenix Cafe and it is a coffee shop, art space, and venue.

The Phoenix Cafe has been hosting shows for a while now, but for the most part they have been a little more mellow. This week they are switching things up though and they are hosting their first punk show. Tuesday night, June 2nd, the lineup includes CBJ, Aggro or Die!, Fairhaven (Iowa), Max Ether, and Up For Nothing (Brooklyn). All ages are welcome to this show and cover is only $7. The music is set to start at 8 p.m.

The Phoenix Cafe is located at 24918 John R. in Hazel Park. For a list of all of their upcoming events, such as shows, art classes and open mic nights, visit them at www.thephoenixcafehazelpark.com. Make sure you head over and give them a "like" on Facebook too.
