Summer 2015 @ New Center Park

Every summer New Center Park hosts all sorts of events to entertain you. They have movie nights on Wednesdays and Fridays and live music on various nights throughout the season.

New Center Park is kicking off their 2015 season this week. First, on Wednesday, June 3rd, they will be showing the Michigan made film Detroit Unleadeda modern day love story that takes place in a 24 Hour Gas Station in Detroit. Then, New Center is kicking off their live music showcase right on Thursday night with Detroit blues singer Thornetta Davis. And on Friday night, bring the whole family out to watch Buzz, Woody and their friends under the stars in Toy Story. Some other highlights from this season are Grand Budapest Hotel (June 10th), a performance by Mic Write (June 18th), Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window (July 22nd), The Nightmare Before Christmas (July 31st), and The Godfather (August 26th). New Center Park is located at 2998 West Grand Boulevard in Detroit. Admission to events at the park is free. On movie nights, seating begins at 8 p.m., with the film starting between 9 & 9:30 p.m. Concert times vary and are listed on the event page here. There are some tables and chairs available, but you can also bring a blanket to cozy up on. Food and drinks (even adult beverages) are served on site, so outside food & drinks are not permitted during events. However, this is a park. So feel free to come by to eat lunch or have a picnic when there isn't an event going on!
