An Afternoon of Winter Fun at Palmer Park

This Sunday take a few hours to enjoy winter at Palmer Park. The park will be hosting their annual Winter Fest with fun events for all ages. The fest features activities like snow shoeing, ice skating, horse and carriage rides, hayrides, crafts, live music, and a doggie fashion parade! Most of those activities are pretty self explanatory, but here are the details on the doggie fashion parade. People can bring their dogs to the event, dressed in their best winter attire, and the dogs will parade around the fest starting at 3 p.m. There will be awards given out to the pups with the most creative costumes, good behavior and best fur coats. It costs $5 to register your pet for the parade. For more details on that, click here.

Admission to the rest of the festival is FREE, but there is a charge for the horse and carriage rides and hayrides. There will also be hot chocolate and other treats available for purchase in a warm-up tent. So bring a few bucks with you, but this will be a relatively cheap day out full of fun! The event starts at 1 p.m. and goes until 4. For more information, head over to the Facebook event page here or PeopleForPalmerPark.org.
