Party Like it's the 1920s at Palmer Park!

The first ever Detroit Gatsby Lawn Party will take place from 11 a.m. 'til 5 p.m. this Sunday, September 13th. The event will feature music (including our good friend Zander Michigan), food, cocktails in a speakeasy tent, vintage cars, vendors and local artists creating art in the classic Italian Street Painting style. Party goers are encouraged to wear their best 1920s/30s finery and dance the day away. Speaking of dancing, there will even be Charleston lessons at the party. So don't worry about sitting on the sidelines and watching everyone else cut a rug! After a quick lesson you can dance like the best of 'em!

Tickets for the Gatsby Lawn Party start at $35 and can be purchased in advance here. A portion of the proceeds will go to Friends of the Alger Theater, a nonprofit that's goal is to renovate the historic 935 Movie House. If you'd like to bring the kids along with you, kids 12 and under get FREE admission to this event. For a full list of activities, click here.
