Punch Bowl Social says that they are place for you to eat, drink and be social. Not only do they offer awesome food and drinks, but the venue houses all sorts of entertainment, including bowling, darts, ping pong, vintage arcade games, and even private karaoke. I for one am the most excited about the private karaoke. Although I am a hell of a singer and sound just like Zooey Deschanel in my car, I don't quite have the guts to get up on stage in front of a crowd. In front of my friends after a few cocktails though, sounds like a blast! The food end of things is being referred to as a "gastro-diner" with items such as Mac 'N Cheese, Waffles and a Tender Belly Pork Shoulder Frito Pie on the menu. You can check out some photos of food and drinks PBS will be offering on their Facebook here.
Although there was a VIP party over the weekend, the first day that Punch Bowl Social is officially open to the public is this Wednesday, December 10th. They are throwing a huge bash to celebrate their grand opening, with free food and drink samplings (including punch!) and music from Detroit's own Kaleido. Tickets are only $10 and all proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army. That's a pretty great price for food, drinks, music, and you are even helping others! You can pick up your tickets in advance here.
Punch Bowl Social is located at 1331 Broadway in Downtown Detroit. For more details on this awesome new place, like them on Facebook here or head over to PunchBowlSocial.com/Detroit.
