Win Tickets to See The Rx Bandits and The Dear Hunter WSG From Indian Lakes

The RX Bandits are coming to Detroit four days after the release of the band's newest album entitled Gemini, Her Majesty. RX hasn't released any original music since 2009’s Mandela and it is time for something new. It will be exciting to see the band playing their new music live at St. Andrew's Hall right after its release. RX’s lead singer Matt Embree has one of the best voices in music today. You can listen to Rx here. I suggest checking out And the Battle Begun and The Resignation, those are my two favorite albums from the band. They are playing alongside The Dear Hunter and From Indian Lakes.

The Dear Hunter recorded and released one of my favorite concept albums of all time. In 2011 they released a set of EPs that they called The Color Spectrum. The music on each of the EPs corresponded to the name, specifically Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet and White. In my opinion, you can literally hear the colors as you listen to the songs. Black, Indigo, and Yellow are my three favorite EPs off that concept album.

From Indian Lakes is an indie rock band from California. They have released two full lengths called The Man With Wooden Legs and Able Bodies. They will be releasing their latest album on Triple Crown Records at the end of 2014 and are touring for most of this year. You can hear their music here.

The show will take place on July 26th at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit. Tickets are $27 in advance and can be purchased here.

This is one of the most solid lineups I have seen come through our city in a long time and I wanted to make sure that we could get a couple of fans in the door to join us for some fun. Live Nation was nice enough to give us two sets of tickets to giveaway for the show. To enter to win, please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmail.com. We will draw two lucky winners a few days before the event and they will be invited to bring a friend and come watch the show.

St. Andrew's is located at 431 E. Congress St. in Detroit. Doors for the show are at 6:30 p.m. and all ages are welcome to enter and attend the show.
