The Philter - Not The Filter

Last week we had the pleasure of seeing The Philter at this month's installment of Duendesday. This surf rock duo is made up of two of the best people we've met in a long time. Their music is fun and unlike other products being put out by bands in the area right now, surf rock guitar riffs and bass lines, vocals that give it sort of an 80s vibe, backed up by drum beats and tracks that are characteristic of the present. Not sure if that description is very appealing to you guys, but it is to us. Take a listen to a couple of the songs below from their set on Wednesday and hopefully you like what you hear. We also had the chance to catch up with Nik and Kim before their set at The Loving Touch and they told us more about The Philter, their music and a dangerous encounter with Odd Hours.

If you are interested in checking out The Philter their next show is Saturday, July 20th at The New Way Bar. They will be playing with The Sound Logic, Rayning and Sterratic. This show is also Kim's Birthday so we're sure it will be a good time! The band has a full length available on bandcamp that was released earlier this year, along with a few albums and single tracks. So make sure you check this band out. We have a feeling you're going to hear a lot more from and about these two.
