The Philter & P.R.O.M. at Northern Lights This Saturday

There are so many good shows going on this weekend! And the cool thing is they are each so different from each other, but all totally worth checking out.
Saturday at Northern Lights Lounge, The Philter and P.R.O.M. will be playing. The Philter is an indie-surf band that describes their music as being "characterized by driving surf leads and reverb drenched distortion." If that sounds interesting, then I highly recommend checking out their bandcamp where you can listen to 3 of the 5 songs from their upcoming EP, plus an older full length album. You don't typically think of surf music when you think Detroit, but The Philter's version of it fits in Detroit better than you may think.

P.R.O.M. is a 3 piece electro-new wave band. One of our favorite local female singers, Natasha Beste (Odd Hours), leads up the band with vocals, James Sterling Lees on guitar/synth/programming and Shane Michael Stewart on bass. If you really want to be thrown through a loop, give the remix of Odd Hours' Solar Plexus Power of Babooshka remixed by P.R.O.M. a listen!

The show is Saturday, December 8 at 9 p.m. and only costs $5. Both bands should be awesome and will make you want to get off your butts and dance around. So get down to Northern Lights and support these up and coming local bands!
