11 Fun Ways to Get Out of the House this Winter in Metro Detroit

Pictured: The Detroit Institute of Art

Michigan winters are long and cold. Once the holidays are over, it can be hard to find a reason to leave the house if you don't have to, but we can become restless and depressed if we don't get out and do something every once in a while.

So, we put together a hip list of reasons to leave your house this winter. We encourage you to try something new or revisit one of your favorite activities. Some of these activities might even get your heart rate up and your blood pumping a little.

Go Ice Skating at Campus Martius or one of Metro Detroit's other Great Outdoor Rinks:
Skating is a low-cost and fun outdoor activity that will get your heart pumping. Many rinks even let you bring your own skates if you have them. It's usually only a few dollars to get into the rink and a few dollars to rent skates, and lots of rinks sell hot chocolate, which is a skating must.
