Head to the Band Blender at Small's & Help Save a Life

If you're headed down to Hamtramck for the Labor Day Festival this weekend, we highly suggest that you make your way over to Small's. On Sunday night they are hosting a great show for a great cause. Every few months Scott from Hype Ignition Screen Printing, The Amino Acids, and Steve Harvey Oswald puts together a band blender. The idea behind the show is that about a dozen bands play short sets across a few different stages and the proceeds go to a great cause. The cause is different each time around and so is the lineup.

This Band Blender is bringing together 13 bands that will each play 20 minute sets. The lineup includes Steve Harvey Oswald, The Wretched SightsThe Blitzers, All the Wild ChildrenThe Amino AcidsThose HoundsBlacklistCarmel LiburdiJP From The HPYeah Detroit And The Mad Scientists of The Nu-New Wave, BURNS, Vessels in Distress, and Sros Lords, a super awesome bill in our book. To get in to see all of these awesome bands, it will only cost you $5, unless you're under 21, in which case you'll have to pay $10. Then, the proceeds from the door will be going towards buying Narcan Spray. This is a product that can save someone's life if they overdose on opioids. The goal is to purchase these sprays for venues and bars in the area, "every place that has a stage", as Scott put it. Heroin and opioid addiction has become a huge problem across the country and within the Detroit area. So by going to this show, you can actually help save someone's life.

This is a great cause and will definitely be a great time! Doors are set to open at 8 p.m., bands will start at 9 p.m., and the last band set to hit the stage is The Amino Acids at 1 a.m. For more details on this show and to check out set times, head over to the Facebook event page here.
