Assemble U: The Art of The Release

It's hard to write a song, but it's even harder to get someone else to listen to it. These days there are many different ways to listen to music and there are lots of ways to find new artists, which makes it difficult for an artist to determine the best way to connect their music with their fans. It's also important to think about how you will release the music, who you will try to get to listen, and how you will try to get them to listen. It's sad to say, but writing the music and recording it are only the first steps in getting your music out there. The release and subsequent touring are also a huge factor in determining your success. Luckily, Assemble Sound is hosting another Assemble U class this week to talk about the art of  "the release".

The "church" is inviting everyone inside their doors to chat about the importance of the release. The talk will take place from 6:30 till 9:30 this Thursday, August 24th. If you are not familiar with Assemble Sound, you can learn more about them by listening to our latest podcast featuring two of the collective's co-owners, Nicole Churchill and Garret Koehler. They are an awesome group of people doing some big things in the City of Detroit. If you can't make this Assemble U, mark your calendar for September 14 when they will discuss a changing industry and October 19 where they will discuss Spotify and streaming.  These chats are a great way to learn and connect with others in the music community. If you're hoping to break into it or get noticed, this is a great way to learn how to do that!
