Don't Miss the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival!

The Hamtramck Labor Day Festival is one of our all time favorite yearly events. It always has a great musical lineup, amazing food choices, and lots of different drink choices. There is a carnival area for kids and it's really easy and usually free to park and get into the fest! It's a lot better than Arts Beats and Eats and it's a whole lot cheaper and more interesting to attend!

The three days festival takes place in downtown Hamtramck this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from noon till 10 p.m. This year's musical lineup includes performances by lots of great artists, including Dude, The Idiot Kids, Devious Ones, JohnDear Darkness, Bevlove, Tunde Olaniran, Kubat Finlay & Rose, and Little Animal. You can view the full list of performances along with set times here.

The festival also features food from an array of local eateries, including perogies, Mediterranean treats and lots of ice cream. There's usually even someone riding around selling really strong jello shots!

This year the festival will have bike parking at the corner of Caniff and Joseph Campau and there are all sorts of local vendors that will be set up throughout the space selling their wares. Go early and enjoy some shopping and good food and stay late to have some drinks and hear some good music. HLDF is one of Detroit's best-hidden gems!

Don't forget! The streets will be closed early on Monday for the parade and canoe races, to learn more about that click here.
