Help Break Hunger with BREAK:HUNGER at Small's

The holidays are upon us and although we should all be thoughtful and giving all year long, this time of year tends to bring out the good in most of us. If you are looking for a great way to help those a little less fortunate while having a good time, head out to Small's this Sunday. Inside a group called BREAK:HUNGER will be hosting a food drive and fundraiser in partnership with Gleaners Community Food Bank. Break:Hunger is a 501c3 that operates in Detroit and Chicago with the goals of raising food, money and awareness for hunger and food insecurity issues. Their event this weekend will bring together some of Metro Detroit's best punk rock bands and fans to collect both food and money for Gleaners. 100% of the door will go to Gleaners, which is pretty awesome of Small's and all of the bands to agree too. Admission is $10 and that amount will provide 30 meals through Gleaners. So every person that walks through the door and pays, is going to be doing a lot of good.

The bands that were awesome enough to take part in this fundraising event are P.T.'s Revenge, The Lippies (who are actually from Grand Rapids), Touch the CloudsThe Mizzerables and Reuther. All of these bands are awesome, but an opportunity to see P.T.'s Revenge doesn't come around too often anymore. So we were sold right there!

This is seriously a do not miss event. In addition to your 10 bucks, please also bring some food to donate at the door. Doors are set to open early, at 5 p.m. So don't worry too much about being out late on a school night.

Great cause, great bands, and a great way to kick off the holiday season!
