Knifin' Around at The Sanctuary

Start your holiday weekend off a little early this week and head out to The Sanctuary on Thursday night! One of the newer bands in Detroit's Punk Rock scene, Knifin' Around, will be playing along with The VulnerableCabin 7No/Breaks (from Coldwater) and Aaron Hibbert (Massachusetts).

We'd love to tell you all about Knifin' Around, but the guys have only played a couple of shows around town and a few out of state. What we can tell you is that they're a four piece punk band made up of Erik Martin (vocals), Dan Kaltz (guitar), John Allport (bass) and Jesse Armstrong (drums). So that lineup should be reason enough to check this band out! They don't have a bandcamp yet and we couldn't find any videos of them playing live. Instead, we just kept coming across this video from Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

If that video is any indication of what we can expect on Thursday night, things might get a little crazy! Admission to the show is $8 and doors are set to open at 8 p.m. Remember, this is a BYOB venue, so pack a couple of cans or a flask.

The Sanctuary is located at 1501 E. Outer Drive in Detroit. Please be respectful of the space and help keep this DIY venue going. Keep your drinks inside and listen to the guys running the show.
