Capitol Park is Home to a Variety of Small Shops and a Pop-Up Farmers Markets All Summer

Capitol Park used to be an unused plot of land in-between Midtown and Downtown, but now, after years of being an eyesore, it has become a bustling outdoor market in the heart of the city. Today, the space features a dog park, a variety of shops, food, and chairs to lounge in. It will also become home to Clementina, a taco and drink Cantina that is opening this Thursday!
The current collection of daily vendors includes hand dyed indigo goods from Dale and Blue, handmade pottery and decor from Pewabic Pottery, shirts, ties and Detroit swag from Well Done Goods, macaroons from Le Detroit Macaroon, and screen printed items from Merit Detroit. These small shops are open 6 days a week from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
In addition to the daily "permanent" pop-ups that are housed inside the little glass house, Capitol Park is hosting a weekly Farmers Market on Tuesdays through September that will give city dwellers the chance to pick up fresh food and veggies right outside their apartment or office! The market includes fresh Michigan grown flowers from Blumz by JRDesigns, snack bars from Mitten Bites, bread from Max Bread, jams from Gus and Grey, pies from Jeff's Crisp Crust, and fresh Michigan grown fruits and veggies.
The park is also surrounded by a bunch of great places that you need to visit the next time you're in the area. This includes La Lanterna, Go Sy Thai, Lovers Only, Prime + Proper, Dessert Oasis Coffee, Detroit Bikes, DIME, and more!
