Celebrate The Purple One's 60th in Style

Prince Rogers Nelson was born June 7th, 1958. Throughout his life he recorded and released 39 full length album and sold over 100 million albums worldwide. He won 8 Grammy Awards, 6 American Music Awards, a Golden Globe, an Academy Award, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 2004. He was known by many names throughout his career including Prince, The Purple One, and . His music was known throughout the world and his resume included hits like "1999", "Let's Go Crazy", "When Doves Cry", "Little Red Corvette" and "I Would Die For You". Tragically, Prince passed away on April 21, 2016 at the all too young age of 57 years old, but not before he changed music forever. Prince mixed rock, pop, and funk, with sex to create something that will exist forever, his music. This Thursday would have been the legend's 60th birthday and instead of spending the day moping around about the loss of the icon. there are lots of ways that you can celebrate the birth, life, and career of a man that changed music and apologetically redefined masculinity and femininity for all of us. Prince's 60th Birthday Music Experience with WDET's Ann Delisi:
This Thursday Night Ann Delisi wants you to join her for breakfast or dinner at FRAME in Hazel Park. The meal will include a welcome cocktail, a pancake bar, chicken and waffles, and more. This ticketed event will feature a meal and an exclusive listening experience that will include Prince's music and stories from his friends and admirers, including his longtime recording engineer, Susan Rogers. Tickets to attend the party are $95 in advance and they can be purchased here.

Willis Show Bar Prince Tribute: 
If you want to get decked out to celebrate the Purple One's 60th birthday, you can put on your best looking dress or nicest pressed suit and come out for a cocktail at the Willis Show Bar from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Thursday night. Rick "the Grandson" Wilhite, DJ Psycho, and SJ Jefferson will be spinning music throughout the night and you can make reservations to ensure you have a spot by clicking here

Marble Bar-
Marble Bar will be celebrating Prince with sets by Gabe Gonzilla, DJ Butter, and an all star line-up. $10 gets you in the door and the party starts at 9 p.m. and goes all night! You can learn more about that event here.
