Star Wars and the Power of Costume Comes to the DIA

This Sunday, May 20th the DIA will open their long awaited exhibit, Star Wars and the Power of Costume. This travelling exhibition will feature more than 60 original costumes from the films and focuses on the artistry behind them. Apparel from characters like Padmé Amidala, Chewbacca, and even R2-D2 will be on display. In addition to checking out the costumes, this tour will offer a "free multimedia tour – youth and adult versions – that will draw connections between the films’ costumes and works of art in the DIA’s collection, allowing visitors to experience the museum in new ways".

Tickets to attend Star Wars and the Power of Costume range from $22.50 - $27.50 depending on whether you would like to attend on the weekend or during the week. Admission for children is $7. If you live in Wayne, Oakland or Macomb County you will also receive a $5 discount on adult admission. The exhibit runs this Sunday through September 30th, but if you want to see these costumes, the DIA highly suggests that you buy your tickets in advance, because dates will sell out.
