See Your Favorite Holiday Film at The Redford Theatre!

If you're looking to get in the holiday spirit, you have to make your way to the Redford Theatre this December! Every weekend this month, the historic theatre is playing your favorite Christmas movies on their big screen. The season kicked off this past weekend with Home Alone and A Christmas Story, but don't worry, there are still plenty of great Christmas classics for you to check out this month.

Coming up on Saturday, December 9th, you have a chance to catch two festive flicks. Elf, starring Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel will be showing at 8 p.m. But first, there will be a matinee showing at The Polar Express at 2 p.m. There will also be a matinee showing of The Polar Express on Sunday at 2 p.m. The weekend of December 15th and 16th, you have three chances to see White Christmas. It will be shown on Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m., as well as a matinee showing at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Then, on Sunday, December 17th there will be a mystery movie shown at 2 p.m. All the theatre is telling us is that it's a "classic holiday movie with a romantic holiday theme". What could it be? Last, but not least, the weekend before Christmas you can see It's A Wonderful Life on Friday and Saturday, December 22nd and 23rd at 8 p.m. and also on the 23rd at 2 p.m.

This is an absolutely great way to get in the mood for the holidays! The ambiance of the theatre is amazing, plus carols are played by the organ player before the film and during intermission and there's a super cute Christmas village set up in front of the stage. Tickets for all shows are only $5 and can be purchased in advance here. You can also buy tickets at the box office the night of the show, as long as it doesn't sell out. Make sure you bring extra money for concessions and souvenirs too! Both are super affordable!

The Redford Theatre is located at 17360 Lahser Road in Detroit. For a full list of upcoming events and to learn more about the theatre, head to RedfordTheatre.com.
