Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend - March 17-19

Friday, March 17th - New Twenty Saints and Craig Brown Band @ Outer Limits Lounge: Friday is St. Patrick's Day, so most bars will be packed and pouring green beer. If you're looking to go out, but are hoping to avoid the normal St. Patrick's Day crowds, head over to Outer Limits Lounge. There will still probably be some people dressed in green, but there will also be two great bands playing, New Twenty Saints and Craig Brown Band. $5 gets you in the door and the music starts at 9 p.m.

Friday, March 17th - Feck Off Fest @ The Garden Bowl: Across town there's another show happening on St. Patrick's Day, Feck Off Fest at The Garden Bowl. This free show features 8 bands on 2 stages. The lineup includes Royal Sweets, MRKT, The Mahonies, Prude Boys, WRKT.FM, Suede Brain, and You Dirty Rat!. There will also be a DJ set by DJ Femme Ferale. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 2 a.m. You have to be 21+ to get in after 8 p.m.

Saturday, March 18th - Midas @ Outer Limits Lounge: Detroit's "solid gold heavy metalers" Midas will be playing Outer Limits Saturday night along with Tower from New York and Vicious Blade from Pittsburgh. Heavy & Beyond will provide the tunes in between sets. Cover is $15 and things kick off at 8 p.m.

Saturday, March 18th - Angel of Mars @ Reware Vintage: Reware Vintage is having a show this Saturday! Shop their vintage wares and listen to live music from Angel of Mars, Gator Pit, and Something is Waiting from Chicago. Music will start at 7:30 p.m. and all ages are welcome. Cover is by donation, so pitch in what you can.

Saturday, March 18th - Haute to Death @ Marble Bar: If you're not in the mood for a show and you'd rather dance the night away, head to Marble Bar this Saturday night. Haute to Death will be taking over for their monthly party. Tickets start at $6 and can be purchased here. The fun starts at 10 p.m. and goes until 3 a.m. 21+ are welcome.
