Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend - March 24-26

We already told you about Thirst Wave, happening this Friday night. Here are some other fun things happening this weekend!

Saturday, March 25th - SUMPP @ The Loving Touch: If you’re looking for something weird, funny, or fun to do this Saturday night, The Loving Touch is the place to be! SUMPP, the new project from Neil Patterson (Downtown Brown), will be making their Detroit debut. You’ll laugh, you’ll dance, and hopefully you won’t cry while you’re at this show. SUMPP will be joined by Carmel Liburdi, Hillbilly Knifefight, White Bee, and JP from the HP. Cover is $15 at the door and all ages are welcome. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8.

Saturday, March 25th - DCFC Home Opener @ Keyworth Stadium: Detroit’s premiere soccer team Detroit City FC plays their first home game of the season this Saturday at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. Whether you’re a soccer fan or just looking for something fun to do, DCFC games are an experience like no other. From the crowd, to the chants, to the food trucks, the atmosphere is electric and you’re in for a good time. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.  and tickets start at $18. Get yours here.

Saturday, March 25th - Drip Clothing Market @ Extra Crispy: Extra Crispy has a fun afternoon planned this Saturday with shopping, music, food, and more. Swing by between noon and 6 p.m. to shop with over a dozen clothing vendors. Music during the event will be provided by Actually Mae. There will also be tasty food available on site from Biscuit Babe and you can even get tooth gems while you’re there from Gem Central. Extra Crispy Studios is located at 4859 Michigan Ave. in Detroit.

Sunday, March 26th - Marche du Nain Rouge: This weekend is full of rouge, with Le Rouge playing Saturday at Keyworth and Marche du Nain Rouge happening in the Cass Corridor on Sunday. It’s once again time to chase that little red devil out of Detroit (if you don’t know what we mean, get the history here). Marchers will gather at Canfield and Second and will parade down to The Masonic Temple for the official presentation. Then, the party happens inside the Masonic and at pretty much every bar in the area. The march steps off at 1 p.m. so don’t be late! Get all of the details here.

Sunday, March 26th - Gimme Gimmie Record Show @ The Sanctuary: It’s that time again! Time to stock up on some new records at the Gimmie Gimmie Record Show at The Sanctuary in Hamtramck. Vendors will be stocked up with a ton of records and other music memorabilia, so you can spend the day searching those bins to see what you can add to your collection. The show starts at 11 a.m. Get a look at some of what will be up for grabs here.
