Hip In Detroit's Picks for the Weekend: September 1st - 4th

Saturday, September 2nd - Monday, September 4th - Hamtramck Labor Day Festival: One of the most underrated festivals in Metro Detroit happens to also be one of our favorites, the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival. For three days, the festival will take over the north end of Joseph Campau with two stages, vendors, food, rides, and more. This year, there will even be a wrestling ring! The festival is happening Saturday - Monday and will feature some great acts, including The Detroit Cobras, Dead Milkmen, Zilched, Pink Spit, New Twenty Saints, and many more. Check out the full schedule here. Admission is free and you can usually find free or cheap parking as well. Head to hamtownfest.com for more details.

Friday, September 1st - Monday, September 4th - Arts, Beats & Eats: Arts, Beats & Eats is probably one of the most popular festivals that takes place over Labor Day Weekend in Metro Detroit, but this year has some pretty great acts on the bill, so it made our list. Friday night, the legendary Joan Jett is highlighting the event. Saturday night, get your fill of 90's & early 2000's nostalgia with Collective Soul. Plus, there are some other great local acts playing throughout the weekend too, like Jackson & The Poolsharks, New Twenty Saints (pulling double duty this weekend), Pancho Villa's Skull, and The Beggars. Check out the full schedule here. Admission to the festival ranges from free to $12. Get details on pricing and more information here

Saturday, September 2nd - Detroit Hustles Harder Double IPA Release Party: If you're not into going to a festival, here's another fun event you may want to check out! Detroit Hustles Harder and Atwater Brewery have teamed up to create a Double IPA. This Saturday night they are celebrating the release of that creation at the Detroit Tap House. You'll get to try the new brew, check out an art gallery on display, and hear live music from Sol Tribe, DJ Rosie and Logix. The fun goes from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Thursday, August 31st - September 4th - Mussel Beach Music Fest @ Cadieux Cafe: And there's one more festival that's on our list, Mussel Beach Festival at Cadieux Cafe. This fest actually started on Thursday, but it goes until Monday, so there's still plenty of time to check it out. Cover is $10 each day or $30 for the weekend. Check out the full lineup and pick up tickets in advance here
