The Hamtramck Labor Day Festival Returns to Joseph Campau this Weekend!

Summer just isn't the same without the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival wrapping it up and we are so happy that the fest is back this year! Like most things, the Labor Day Festival was cancelled last year due to Covid, but it's back this year for three days of fun on Joseph Campau. The event will feature vendors, great food, drinks, live music, and of course the Hamtramck Yacht Club Canoe Races. This year, the canoe race has been moved to Joseph Campau at Casmere and will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Labor Day. Show up and root on your favorite bartenders and Hamtramck celebrities while they race down the street in their homemade canoes on wheels. Don't forget to bring your water balloons because the crowd supplies the water for the canoes!

Another change to this year's Labor Day Fest is that there will just be one stage for live music, instead of two, but the lineup is still stacked for the entire weekend! The music will kick off at 1 p.m. on Saturday with a band that you won't want to miss, 208. If you were at El Club's opening weekend with Negative Approach and The Detroit Cobras, you may have seen this band, who is newer to the Detroit scene. The duo has been playing music together for a couple of years now and moved to Detroit from Florida in 2019. They're currently working on a full length album and already have an EP out that you can listen to here. Some of the other great acts playing this year's festival include Devious Ones, Craig Brown Band, Caveman Woodman & Bam Bam, ZILCHED, John Salvage & the New Twenty Saints, Shadow Show, Timmy’s Organism, Virginia Violet and the Rays, Tin Foil, and Twistin' Tarantulas. When we were going through the schedule, we realized that we started to include everyone on it because it's that good. So, just check out the full schedule below.
