Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend: November 15-17

There's a lot going on this weekend! In addition to everything we already told you about, here are a few more fun events!

Friday, November 15th - Daniel Johnston Tribute @ The Magic Stick: Some of Detroit's best musicians are coming together to pay tribute to the late songwriter Daniel Johnston. The lineup for the evening includes artists like Stef Chura, Greater Alexander, Craig Brown, Anna Burch, and more. Cover is $10, doors open at 7 p.m. and the show kicks off at 8.

Friday, November 15th - DJ Shawn Addison @ Bagley Central: We've been telling you for months that Bagley Central is the best bar in Detroit. This Friday night, DJ Shawn Addison will be playing Funk & Lo Fi tunes while Kung Fu movies play on the big screens. Cover is free and the craft cocktails are amazing and cheap!

Friday, Saturday & Sunday, November 15th-17th - Street Beet Holiday Hours @ 3rd Street: Starting this weekend, you can get Street Beet's delicious vegan food every weekend until December 22nd at 3rd Street Detroit. The team will be serving up selections from their Detroit Fake Chicken menu, other than Thanksgiving weekend when they will have a Fakesgiving menu. The kitchen opens at 3 p.m. each day. P.S. Saturday, November 16th - Motor City Soul Club November Soul Stomp @ Marble Bar: Dance the night away with all original vinyl, all soul and funk, all night across two stages. This dance party is free to attend, doors open at 9 p.m. and the party starts at 10.

Sunday, November 17th - Family Matters: An Installation by Tony Rave: The amazing Tony Rave will be opening his latest art installation this Sunday night at Shylo Arts.  Family Matters is "a one day installation that addresses nostalgia, propaganda and innocence". The gallery opens at 6 p.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Shylo Arts is located at 15700 Muirland St. in Detroit.
