Drink, Putt, and Play Old School Games at The Fisher Building

The Fisher Building is one of our favorite Detroit landmarks. It opened in 1928 and was designed by Detroit icon Albert Kahn. It is gold, gaudy, art deco, and is simply stunning to walk through. It is currently home to The Fisher Theater as well as many local companies, including The Peacock Room, Yama, Pot + Box, Vera Jane, and more. Occasionally, they even host special events and turn the entire place into something different for a day or two. This has included hosting a half pipe that people could skate and bike on and putting up a stage with pop-up bars and a huge projection screen to help Flint Eastwood celebrate all her "small victories". They love to find new ways to bring the community together, which is exactly what they will be doing this Saturday.

This Saturday, December 15th, The Fisher Building will turn into a Holiday Beer Garden complete with an old school arcade, putt-putt golfing, and tons of beer from Michigan favorite Founders. This special one night only event will take place from 7 p.m. until Midnight this Saturday and all the cool shops inside the space will stay open for late night holiday shopping during the event. Tickets to attend are only $5 and once you pay to get in, all the games are free to play.  A portion of the proceeds from entry will go to one of our favorite Detroit charities, the Ruth Ellis Center. You can purchase tickets to attend the event here. You can keep up with all the details here.
