This Sunday afternoon, Metro Detroiters with Irish Heritage and people that are Irish for the day will head to Corktown for the Detroit's St. Patrick's Parade. Now in its 60th year, the event is always held on the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day and brings together thousands of people all looking to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and have a good time. The streets are filled of people dressed in green from head to toe and the bars are packed from wall to wall.

If you're looking to join in on the fun this Sunday, the parade is set to kick off at 12:30 p.m. and runs along Michigan Avenue. Even though the parade doesn't kick off until after noon, the party will start around 7 a.m. with people tailgating and bars opening their doors early. Some of the highlights along Michigan Avenue include PJ's Lager House, that will open its doors at 10 a.m. and have live music from Bill Grogan's Goat and Stone Clover throughout the day. Slow's will also open at 10 a.m. and will have some awesome food and drinks available, you can check out their selection here. Plus there will be a big heated tent next to the Gaelic League, with DJs, food, a full bar, and more! If you're looking for some family fun while you're at the parade, there will also be a private family fun zone, that will feature inflatables, face painting, Irish dance lessons, private bathrooms, and more! Admission to this area is $9 a person or $35 for a family. You can get more details on that here. Last but not least, there is the annual Corktown Races, a 5K that kicks off at 8 a.m.

So whether you're looking to drink until you turn green or have fun with the kiddos this weekend, make your way to Corktown for Parade Day! For more info on the parade and all of the events surrounding it, click here
