Savor a Taste of Detroit at The Great Lakes Culinary Center This Week

Detroit is quickly becoming know as an art and food mecca. There are new galleries, restaurants, and pops ups to check out every week. This week Hour Detroit is bringing us a week long event called Savor Detroit. Each night two master chefs will team up to create a one of a kind food experience.
The first meal is being served tonight, but tickets are already sold out for the highly anticipated dinner featuring Chef James Rigato from Mabel Gray and The Root & Chef Mei Lin from Bravo's Top Chef. But don't worry, the rest of the week's lineup is just as solid as the kick off night. So you still have to time to secure your plate. Tuesday's meal will be cooked by Chef Derik Watson from Bistro 82 & Chef Derek Harris from The Hill Seafood & Chophouse. Wednesday's meals will be cooked by Chef Brion Wong formerly from Antietam & Chef Kate Williams from Lady of the House. Thursday's meals will be prepared by Chef Marc Casadei from Tre Monti Ristorante & Chef Matthew Fitchett from Big Rock Chophouse. And the final meal of the week will be cooked this Friday by Chef Jeff Baldwin from J.Baldwin's & Chef Doug Hewitt from Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktails.

Each night will feature a four course meal and dessert and wine. Before each meal is served there will be a cocktail hour featuring appetizers. Local artist Tyree Guyton (the man behind The Heidelberg Project) will have his work on display at The Culinary Center.

Each menu will be released before the event, follow the Facebook event page to keep up with each announcement as it comes out.
Tickets to attend one of the meals are $125 per person. Tables of ten are also available for purchase. Tickets include cocktails, appetizers, a four-course dinner, wine pairings and dessert. It's pricey, but if you're looking for a one of a kind food filled experience, this is the way to go.

The Culinary Institute is located at 24101 W. Nine Mile in Southfield, Michigan 48033 .
