Glass Action Opens its First Showroom!

A few months ago hipindetroit.com had the honor of taking some photos with Detroit's own Camera Jesus. When we posted the photos we received a ton of messages and emails asking the same question, "Where did you get that Michigan necklace?" The answer is Glass Action, the coolest fucking jewelry maker in Detroit.

Glass Action is the brainchild of Carey Gustafson, one of the amazing women behind the Detroit Urban Craft Fair and Handmade Detroit. For years we have been rocking her necklaces. We especially love her stained glass hearts, teeth, and  two strand Michigan shaped styles. Her necklaces are well made, unique, and really fun to wear.

Carey also creates beautiful stained glass tiles, jewelry boxes, nightlights, and lots of one of a kind special order items. She has sold her wares on Etsy, at local festivals, and inside pop up shops for years, but we are excited to announce that this week she will open the doors and let all of us inside to check out her new work-space and showroom.

The showroom will be open limited hours for the first few months.  The kickoff will take place this weekend and the space will be open about once a month after that. You will need to follow Glass Action on Facebook to find out the days and times that customers will be able to visit.  In a few months the will likely have set hours a few days a week but for now it will be about once a month!

Glass Action will be open this Friday and Saturday, May 8th and 9th. The
new space will be located at 624 Livernois, Ferndale, Suite 200. Friday's opening party will run from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. The Saturday party will take place from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m.!
