Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend: September 6 - 8

Dally in the Alley is on the top of our list of things to do this weekend, but here are some other fun things to do before or after you dally.

Friday, September 6th - Pizzacon @ Small's: Who doesn't love pizza? This Friday night,  it's all about pizza at the Third Annual Pizzacon! This event includes a pizza themed art show and pizza party, with free slices provided by Jet's Pizza. The party starts at 8 p.m. and there is no cover charge. Free pizza and free admission! Does it get any better???

Saturday, September 7th - Bark to School Adoption Event: We've been all about saving the dogs lately and this Saturday, you have the perfect chance to save some great pups and take home a new friend. Detroit Animal Care and Control will be holding a free adoption event this Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The DACC takes in between 70-100 animals a week. So there are always new animals coming in that need your help. Not ready to adopt? They're always looking for fosters. You can even just take a dog on an adventure or home for a sleepover! The DACC is located on the I-75 service drive at 7401 Chrysler Drive.

Saturday, September 7th - J. Navarro & The Traitors @ The Parliament Room at Otus Supply: J. Navarro & The Traitors bring ska to the stage at Otus Supply this Saturday night. Joining them for the evening are The Essentials, You Dirty Rat, Burning Things plus special guests Pocket Sounds. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. So save yourself a few bucks and buy tickets in advance here. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 8th - The Growlers @ The Majestic: Last weekend, Jessica Hernandez blew fans away with her homecoming show at the Magic Stick. Well this weekend, you get to see Stella's daddy play with his band next door at The Majestic! The Growlers will be joined by Pinky Pinky and tickets are $30. All ages are welcome and doors are set to open at 7 p.m.
