DIY Street Fair Takes Over Ferndale this Weekend

Do you like art, music, outdoor drinking, food, and community? The DIY Street Fair is returning to Ferndale for the 12th year and it offers all of that and more for FREE! This year's festival will feature over 150 local merchants that make some of the coolest items that you can find anywhere. In fact, this street fair has repeatedly been voted the Best Local Street Fair by numerous outlets, which means that you can find all of Detroit's best makers alongside a few out-of-towners for one weekend only! There is also live music from a variety of local and national acts throughout the three day weekend. This includes JR JR, The Gories, The High Strung, The Beggars, The Dropout and many more. You can see the full lineup, including set times on the DIY website here.

The festival also features a variety of local food companies including Mac Shack, Nosh Pit, Treat Dreams, El Guapo and more. You can also pop into The Emory and The Woodward Avenue Brewers to eat throughout the event. Both restaurants offer bird's-eye views of the stage and a place to take a break from it all if you need to! There are also a variety of events for the kids including a visit from the League of Enchantment on Sunday. This is very much a family-friendly event during the day and an all-out party in the streets at night.

The Loving Touch will have after-parties all three nights, but the official lineups have not been announced yet. You can follow DIY on Instagram or Facebook to stay in the loop! The Street Fair runs from 6 p.m. - Midnight on Friday, 11 a.m. - Midnight on Saturday, and 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Sunday.
