Drifter Coffee is Officially Open in Ferndale

It's been almost a year since reconstruction began on Drifter Coffee's brick and mortar space in Ferndale. The almost four-year-old company has been operating out of a traveling coffee van that they call "the caboose", but it was time to take it to the next level which is exactly what they did last Saturday. With an instagram post, they announced that the coffee would begin flowing at 8 a.m. and by 9 a.m. the cute little all-inclusive cafe was open and full of eager Ferndale residents that wanted their morning fix.

The two-story space features a cafe, a greenhouse, and the coziest little hangout areas a person could ask for. Most of the art is local and the decor is welcoming and modern at the same time. The building is handicap accessible and the cafe is an all-inclusive space that even offers gender-neutral bathrooms. It is the perfect place to enjoy a brew, have a meeting, catch up with a friend, or bang out some work on the laptop. They have free wi-fi for customers and lots of areas to plug in if you need a little juice to get through your work. Drifters Divine Goddess Blend, their pour over, and their decaf beans are all roasted in house by Noah and Bill from Gooseneck Coffee Company. Their drip coffees start at $3 a piece and they carry a variety of treats. including vegan options.

Drifter Coffee is located at 770 Woodward Heights in Ferndale. They will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. They are closed on Mondays. They also have their own parking so you do not need to worry about the meters if you just need to grab and go.

We loved our first oat milk latte and were pleased to hear that they plan to carry almond, oat, and coconut milk so that we can keep it vegan and switch it up sometimes. Stop in and try it for yourself!
