Renegade Craft Returns to Detroit this Weekend

This weekend, the Renegade Craft returns to Detroit for the second year. Renegade Craft originated in Chicago in 2003 and has since spread to cities across the US and even the UK. Their events feature contemporary handmade items from the "country’s foremost voices in craft and design". This year, the Detroit fair will take place near Eastern Market, on Russell Street south of Gratiot and will feature dozens of artists and vendors selling everything from clothing to fine art. You can see the full list of participants here.
In addition to the makers, there will also be food, drinks, and music at the event. Detroit's own Gold Cash Gold will be serving up craft cocktails. Maker's Mark will also be on site with their adult beverages. Food will be available from Detroit BBQ Company while DJs from Uncanned Music play music. There will also be workshops by Workshop PGH DIY School and art installations from Playground Detroit. There's a lot of fun to be had, and it is free to get access to it all!

The Renegade Craft Fair is happening this Saturday and Sunday, September 15th and 16th. The fair kicks off at 11 a.m. and is open until 6 p.m. daily. As we mentioned, it is free to attend. For more information on this super fun event, click here.
