Hip in Detroit + Obscura Broadcasting Company Give You an Inside Look at Third Man Records Cass Corridor

Jack White is one of the biggest names to come out of Detroit, especially from our generation. He first rose to stardom with his band The White Stripes, and continued his musical career with The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather. But, did you know that in addition to being a rock star, Jack White also has a record label?

Third Man Records was first started by White in 2001 in Detroit. The label has released music for a wide array of artists, you can check out the full list here. In 2009, Third Man opened a physical location for the company in Nashville, but then in 2015, the brand returned to Detroit with a location in the Cass Corridor. Third Man Records Cass Corridor houses a store, vinyl pressing plant, recording studio, and is simply one of the coolest spots in Detroit. When you stop in, you can not only buy a record, but also record your own voice, see a band perform live, or check out records being made right before your eyes. We like to refer to it as Jack White's own Disneyland, where you get swept up in the fandom and fun of it all and end up walking out with all sorts of Third Man swag and being an even bigger fan of Jack White than you were when you walked in. We had a chance to get a behind the scenes look at Third Man Records Cass Corridor with our friends at Obscura Broadcasting Company. Check it out below!

Third Man Records' location in Detroit is located at 441 W. Canfield St., Detroit, MI 48201. The store hours are Monday thru Friday 10 AM - 7 PM, Saturday from 10 AM - 6 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM - 5 PM. The Third Man Records Pressing Plant is also now offering guided tours on select Saturdays. The cost for a tour is only $15, you can check out the dates available and sign up here. Make sure you also head over and "like" Third Man Records Cass Corridor on Facebook to stay in the loop on shows and other special in-store events coming to the Detroit location. If you haven't been already, we definitely suggest stopping into Third Man Records Cass Corridor the next time you are shopping in Detroit! And if you have been before, stop in again and see what's new!
